Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well – and we are hiring curious, driven, and courageous experts to transform our business unit to enable eBay's next generation Payments strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers and sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Policy, Decision Sciences, and Policy Operations.

Team Description:

The Risk Management team is responsible for protecting eBay’s growing marketplace globally and keeping eBay a trusted place for buyers and sellers to do business. To protect eBay we need to detect when something unusual is happening with our metrics and when they are working as expected. eBay needs talented people to help design and build the tools to make that possible.

As a Business Process Analyst, you’ll partner closely with both the Product and Risk teams. You will help design automated tools that detect changes in our processes that need to be investigated, optimize existing processes to reduce defects or lower costs, and assist the Incident Management team to accelerate their investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams and various Risk domain experts to develop instrumentation and control systems for new or existing processes

  • Partner with operations teams to give them visibility to quickly investigate and determine root cause for anomalies

  • Develop operational recommendations for optimizing processes to reduce defects, improve efficiency or reduce cost

  • Work closely with various risk operations teams to find opportunities and solve problems

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent work experience

  • Previous experience with Python, R, SAS or other analytical software

  • 3+ years writing SQL, preferably in Teradata

  • 5-10 years’ experience in analytics, prefer within a Risk Organization

  • Statistical process control experience preferable
