The Opportunity

The candidate will play a critical role in both representing StubHub externally to the music industry, as well as representing the needs of the music industry within StubHub. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, developing strategies to further weave StubHub into the fabric of the music industry, implementing those strategies, identifying and exploring potential partnerships within the music ecosystem that can help StubHub meet its goals, negotiating complex business deals, all while developing and managing meaningful relationships within the industry. The candidate will also work cross-functionally to ensure strategies and goals related to music are being executed and met.

The ideal candidate will be a driven, self-starter who has the ability to influence both externally and internally. She or he should be able to demonstrate an ability to think strategically about business models, partnership structures, how to solve challenging business problems, and be able to show a history of delivering results and an ability to lead. The ideal candidate must have a broad and deep network of music industry relationships and connections with influential, senior leaders within music, and have served in a business development capacity in a meaningful way in her/his career. Finally, the candidate should be a model representative of the company, highly collaborative, and able to juggle the needs of the business against providing value and excellent service to its partners and potential partners.

Experience in either e-commerce and/or ticketing is a plus. A shown history of building and managing teams is also a plus.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ yrs experience in the music industry, preferably in a business development capacity

  • Proven network of contacts and relationships within the music industry

  • Proven ability to build, develop and manage meaningful relationships with both colleagues and external constituents, from entry level to C-level

  • Ability to grasp and evolve business models, understand implications on StubHub’s business from external factors, and to build strategic plans and business plans

  • Experience in creating commercial agreements, including the creation of business proposals, negotiating deals, and managing contracts

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to articulate business and strategic concepts to internal and external audiences

  • A dedication to communication, collaboration, and team chemistry a must
