About the Role

The Analytics Manager (US Vehicles) is responsible for i) driving successful business outcomes by leveraging data; (ii) monitoring and analyzing trends of key operational, competitive and financial metrics; (iii) drafting strategic recommendations for the business. The position is based in San Francisco / San Jose and reports into the Finance, Analytics and Strategy team for the Global Growth BU, working closely with the CFO and broader management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate qualitative and quantitative insights that help drive the business

  • Understand the dynamics and drivers of key metrics; provide business recommendations to drive traffic, user engagement and leads (buy-side) and seller growth, monetization and retention (supply-side)

  • Develop an understanding of customer (consumer and seller) and competitor dynamics by extracting information from a diverse array of sources

  • Communicate insights and recommendations across the organization

  • Measure and track performance against KPIs

  • Leverage the full breadth of data sources and analytic resources

  • Ensure reliable and consistent data capture and availability for all relevant data in line with global tracking standards

  • Work with global teams to develop dashboards and self-service analytics tools for business partners

  • Develop analytical models to drive business outcomes – such as user engagement, marketing effectiveness, seller pricing and seller churn – and support forecasting, annual budgeting, quarterly reviews, and 3 year strategic planning

  • Act as a connector between local business teams and global analytics experts on use of analytics frameworks, tools, and processes


  • Approximately 4-6 years of relevant experience

  • Strong background in quantitative thinking and data analysis

  • Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends

  • Able to work using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools

  • Familiarity with data modeling and statistics

  • Ability to take data, identify key insights, and convey message to non-technical audience

  • Business acumen and ability to turn quantitative insights into strategic recommendations

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, experience with PowerPoint

  • Industry experience in e-commerce or consumer internet a plus

  • Familiarity with analytics, statistical & visualization tools: e.g. Google Analytics, Tableau, R, SQL, Optimizely, Adjust, Microsoft Excel, etc.

  • Degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, business or related field.
